Computer error message: Can’t connect to the proxy server. What should I do?
Home » I’m not logged in yet »
This error may occur if your computer’s proxy server is incorrectly configured.
Here are the steps to correct this error:
💻 Windows
Open your computer’s network settings
Open Windows Settings and select Network & Internet.
In the settings window, click on Proxy in the left menu.
Enable "Automatically detect settings"
- Under the Automatic proxy setup section, find the option labeled Automatically detect settings
- Make sure this option is turned ON (the switch should be in the “On” position).
Disable manual proxy settings (if necessary)
If manual proxy settings are enabled (e.g., a proxy address or port is entered), disable the Use a proxy server option. This ensures your computer only uses automatic detection.
Restart your Internet connection
- Disconnect your computer from the WiFi, then reconnect.
- If needed, restart your computer to apply the changes.
If the issue persists, make sure that no VPN or firewall is blocking your connection…
